About us

Flagstaff ROAMRunners On A Mission is a local non-profit family/youth running club. Ages 9 to 100 can participate. Open to beginning runners and competitive runners alike. Runs are all year long, twice a week for an hour on local trails and paths.  Runner’s have the option to participate in local races, Junior Olympics, Track, Cross-Country, as well as other events throughout the year. All racing and practices are optional and not required for participation.

Along with running together, we help build community through local, national and international mission work.  We shovel snow for shut ins, clean trails, feed homeless, sponsor assisted living elderly, build homes in Mexico and fill shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.  Our running and our mission work are done in a faith-based, non-denominational atmosphere.

About our Coaches:

Coaches Gary and Kari Plank have been coaching in Flagstaff for 12 years. Head Coach Gary Plank ran in high school and college and has continued throughout his life. He has been and continues to be an All American in the 800M, 1500M, 5K, and 10K events. He holds numerous state records in those events. His coaching philosophy is simple: to help foster a love of running over the individual’s life span with goal-setting and steady, gradual improvement.

Coach Kari just loves to run. Coach Kari is all about making running fun and enjoyable for everyone from beginning runners to the most competitive runners.
